I published some thoughts about requirements reuse on BATimes this week. Reuse is a powerful strategy. When done right, it provides huge rewards.
I’m in Germany this week attending REConf, which is the largest Requirements Engineering conference in Germany. The topic of reuse is timely because there are really two main themes floating around the conference floor: sustainable requirements and optimization. Sustainable requirements is essentially the process of making the requirements process more of an organizationwide endeavor. The risk, or actually, the fear, is that by opening up the product-delivery process to additional groups within an organization you incur additional overhead and noise. This is where optimization and efficiency comes into play. Jama combines workflow, traceability and reuse with collaboration in order to achieve the two concepts simultaneously.
It’s been great see the attendees here streaming out of their sessions motivated and excited to achieve better results.
