Changing how we Measure Progress in Product Delivery

Derwyn Harris | October 20, 2014

Progress, everyone wants to know about progress. When it comes to product delivery there isn’t a more important metric than progress. But it’s not enough to just track progress within a single team. Within Agile, the burndown chart is valuable for tracking progress on the stories for a single sprint but doesn’t provide a higher level rollup of this progress (such as at the Epic level) in order to visualize progress towards a release for example. Traceability is key for this but for years it has been used for the sole purpose of coverage and audits. With Jama, traceability has already evolved into a living concept; connecting teams and data, providing clear paths of communication, decisions and awareness. We are about to release a great new feature that brings progress measurement to traceability. On Saturday, October 25 this feature will become available to our hosted customers. Because this feature will need to be turned on, we recommend you watch the video below to learn how to do it. As always, please let us know what you think in the comments below.
