Pricing FAQ

Is Contour scalable for enterprise deployments?

Yes. Contour is an enterprise solution built to support the demands of the largest global organizations. It can easily scale to thousands of users and geographically distributed teams.

Do you offer different pricing options?

Yes. You have 2 ways in which to purchase Contour licenses - perpetual or term.

• Buy It. Perpetual licenses grant you lifetime use of Contour and include support and maintenance for the first year. Support and maintenance is then renewed annually.


• Rent It. Term licenses grant you the use of Contour over a defined term of 12 months, and include support and maintenance. At the end of the annual term, the licenses may be renewed. If the licenses are not renewed, the use of Contour will expire.

If we decide to rent Contour initially, can we switch to buy it later?

Yes. You can switch from term to perpetual at any time. Any unused portion of your term licenses will be credited 100% towards your purchase. Contact us to discuss further.

Do you offer different user types?

Yes. You have 3 user types to choose from based on the different needs of your team.

• Named Users. Allows a single user unlimited access at all times. Ideal for team members actively involved in the product planning and development and need ability to add/edit/delete projects, requirements and other items.


• Floating Users. Allows multiple users to share a license, but only one user may be logged in at a time. Ideal for team members or contractors that are intermittently involved and need ability to add/edit/delete items.


• Collaborators. Allows a user restricted access with ability to add comments & view reports. Ideal for stakeholders, customers and executives who need ongoing visibility into projects to see status, review items and provide feedback; but not add/edit/delete items.

Do you offer integrations with Contour and how much do they cost?

Do you offer volume discounts on Contour licenses?

Do you offer special discounts to universities, students and non-profits?

Yes. If your organization's purpose is to educate students or make the world a better place, we want to help you achieve that. Jama offers qualified organizations a 20% discount. Proof of status is required. Request a Quote >

Do you offer hosting options?

Yes. You can install Contour locally, On-Premise, or have Jama host it for you - the choice is yours. The only difference in pricing is that the hosted option, Contour On-Demand, requires an annual contract for managed hosting services. Request a Quote >

If we start on the hosted option, can we switch to bring it in-house later?

Yes. You can switch between Contour On-Demand and Contour On-Premise. Your data is safe and we will ensure you experience a smooth transition. Jama provides this service through our technical consultants for an additional fee. Contact us to discuss further.

Is maintenance and support included in the license price?

Yes. Maintenance is included with the license costs for the first year for both perpetual and term licenses. Maintenance is then renewed annually thereafter for all licenses purchased.
