Today, I’m pleased to introduce Jama Connect’s new PDF parsing and import functionality.

Engineering teams still receive critical requirements in static formats like PDFs, supplier specifications, regulatory documents, and customer statements of work.

Traditionally, importing this content into a requirements management tool means manual copy and paste, reformatting, and hours of cleanup, introducing risk, inconsistency, and delay.

With our new PDF import capability, you can transform unstructured documents into actionable requirements quickly and easily.

To start, open the new PDF import from the project list view or document view.

Simply choose the file you’d like to import from your device, select which pages from the file you’d like to import, and choose where in your project you’d like to store the information.

Once you click Next, the system intelligently parses the document, identifying headings, numbered lists, text blocks, and even tables and images based on the content itself.

Here, you can review exactly how the document will be interpreted. Each content block will be imported separately, and you can choose how it’s interpreted from a right-click menu.

Before anything is created, you’ll receive a summary of what will be generated.

With one final click, the system creates the items.

In just seconds, your items are generated and available for you in Jama Connect.

Just like that, the information from a static PDF is now available for use, ready for linking, validation, testing, and impact analysis.

This means:
