REST API Training / Consultation Services

Overview

Jama Software provides REST API training to help equip teams with skills needed to develop their own custom scripts. Our introductory API Training and related resources are available on our Jama Connect 101 page.

We recommend starting with our API Training, as if covers core foundation concepts and required resources necessary for script development efforts. If you need additional guidance after reviewing our self-service training materials, you may request a API Consultation below.

Prerequisites
These sessions are intended for technical resources and cover the Jama REST API but do not teach generalized API utilization nor a particular coding language. Participants unfamiliar with REST are recommend prior learning through other resources.

• Jama Connect user account with a Named Creator License in order to access the Jama REST API
• Basic REST concepts (requests, responses, status codes)
• Proficiency in reading JSON data structures
• Ability to use an API client (Postman, curl, Insomnia) or write simple HTTP calls in your preferred language

REST API Training 
This self-service training offers a focused introduction to the Jama REST API, designed for technical users looking to build integrations or custom scripts within Jama. Rather than covering REST APIs broadly, the module is tailored specifically to Jama’s API—guiding users through authentication, key endpoints, and practical, platform-specific examples to help them confidently work with Jama data.

• Jama REST API Training

REST API Consultation [1 credit]

The API Consultation offering provides a live session led by a Jama custom projects developer who can offer guidance and support for custom script development efforts using the Jama REST API. Customers requesting a consultation will receive a scoping document to outline the topics they would like covered or outline specific guidance needed for a customer led script development initiative.

Completion of REST API Training is required as a prerequisite.
