Overview

Jama Software provides custom report development training to help teams build their own Velocity custom reports. Our introductory Basic Training, more advanced Intermediate Training, and related resources are available on our Jama Connect 101 page.

We recommend starting with Basic Training, as it covers the core foundational concepts and required resources for Jama custom report development. If you need additional guidance after reviewing our self-service training materials, you may request a Velocity Consultation below.

Pre-Requisites

Please be aware if you are running a self-hosted instance of Jama Connect you must be running a supported version to request a Velocity Consultation.

These trainings are intended for technical resources and cover Velocity report development with Jama Connect but do not teach HTML or CSS. Participants unfamiliar with any of the following are recommend prior learning through other resources.

  • HTML & CSS
  • API utilization & method calling
  • Java data manipulation (Strings, Arrays, etc.)
  • Access to Microsoft Word & Excel

Basic Velocity Training 

Jama Software provides custom report development training to equip teams with the skills necessary to create their own Velocity custom reports. Through this training you will be provided with the necessary foundational knowledge, resources, coding exercises, and development templates needed to achieve your reporting needs.

The training is available to all customers as a free, self-service module on our Jama Connect 101 page as a free self-serve training module.

Intermediate Velocity Training 

This training builds upon the foundational concepts covered in Basic Velocity Training and focuses on more advanced report development alongside a Jama developer. Participants will explore pre-defined topics and complex implementation techniques used to create higher-level custom reports.

The training is available to all customers as a free, self-service module on our Jama Connect 101 page as a free self-serve training module.

Velocity Consultation [1 credit]

The Velocity Consultation offering provides a live session led by a Jama custom reports developer who can offer guidance and support for Velocity custom report development efforts. Customers requesting a consultation will receive a scoping document to outline the topics they would like covered or outline specific guidance needed for a customer led report development initiative.

Completion of Basic Training is required as a prerequisite.
