Jama Software Announces General Availability of REST API

Today, Jama Software announced general availability of its REST API to all customers, including enterprise customers that require data to remain behind firewalls.

Jama developed this standards-based, easy-to-use API to offer developers and partners a modern, easy-to-use integration method that allows for more flexibility and scalability, and increases application performance. Initially launched to its hosted customers in October 2015, this latest release brings the REST API to large enterprises with complex needs.

“We’re excited to offer all of our customers access to our REST API,” said Steve Gotsch, product manager at Jama Software. “We’ve been thrilled with the work our customers have been able to accomplish through the API and see great opportunity for enterprises using Jama at the center of their product development process to unlock even more value.”

Jama helps to coordinate stakeholder input with an actionable system of record that gives everyone real-time visibility into the items they are most interested in. The Jama platform is inherently configurable; the company’s Integration Hub, powered by Tasktop, makes it easy to integrate with other best-of-breed developer and testing tools, including JIRA, Rally HPQC and Enterprise Architect. With the REST API now broadly available, Jama offers its customers another way to customize and extend Jama’s capabilities with desired functionality.

Since the release of the closed beta and hosted API, developers have built apps for activities ranging from customized traceability reports for regulatory compliance standards to recording manual and automated test results. The REST API is fully documented with features, end points and data types on the Jama Software Developer site.
