The Import Wizard will detect when the target document type is an Excel document by checking the file extension for .xls or .xlsx.

1.Select the Excel Options.
Worksheet - One Excel worksheet can be imported at a time.  This provides the ability to select the target worksheet.
Header Row - The number or the row in the worksheet that contains the field names.  Selecting zero will require the user to select the column number from the mapping pick list.
Update Items - This option provides the ability to update existing Items in Contour when the spreadsheet has been properly setup.  The conflict option provides the ability to pick whether an update occurs when the version number in Contour has changed since the spreadsheet was created.

Note:  To use the Update Items option, the spreadsheet MUST have been created by Contour using a properly configured Excel template. Excel documents missing the required Contour data will receive the following error attempting to review the importing of the first Item.

2.Select the Field Mapping Options.
When a header row has been indicated the pick lists will include all of the column names.
When no header row exists the pick lists will contain numbers representing the columns left to right.

Note: Values in the spreadsheet being mapped to a pick list field must EXACTLY match the display value of the pick list field in Contour.

3.Set any default values for fields that are not available in the import or when values in the spreadsheet do not EXACTLY match the display value of the pick list field in Contour.
