Before we get into the detail, let’s take a quick tour of Contour's features using a generic project.

1.Start by logging into Contour using the provided URL and login.
2.If this is the first time you have used Contour you'll be asked to select a project. Pick the project "CoveragePlus" if it is available or you may also choose a sample project if one has been specifically setup for you. Once a project has been selected you will be presented with the Contour workspace.

Within this example project you'll see some data already created for you within the workspace. You'll notice the hierarchical structure in the Explorer containing Components, Sets, Folders, and the Items that are used to contain the data of a project. In the Filters tab you will notice several Filters already defined. These allow you to define searching rules on the data throughout your project or organization.

1.Click on the Requirement's Filter within the Filters tab and you'll see all of the Items that belong to the Requirement's Set in the center panel. You can modify your view by clicking Views in the upper right hand corner of the center panel to switch between a Reading or List view.
2.If you are more comfortable with a hierarchical view of Items, similar to Microsoft Explorer, then switch over to the Explorer tab.
