Adding Tags

Tags provide a flexible way to categorize Items within a Project that extends across Components and Sets  with their associated Item Types.  Each Item Type can be configured by the Administrator to contain a Tags  widget that will be displayed as a tab in the Item's detail.  Here Tags may be viewed and selected.

Add, Edit or Remove Tags from an Item

1.Select an Item and click on the Tags tab.  If the tab is not available then your Administrator has not configured the Item Type to use Tags.

2.Selecting a Tag from this list will open a new tab in the detail view with a list of all Items that share the Tag.
3.Select the Add/Edit Tags button.

4.Selecting a Tag from the left side of the dialog adds the Tag to the Item.  Conversely, selecting an Item from the right-side removes the Tag from the Item.
5.If the Tag you need is not available then click on the Add Tag button.

Add or Create a Tag while Editing an Item

A text box for adding or creating tags is available at the bottom of the Edit Item window for Items with the Tag element enabled.

1.Edit an Item with the Tag element enabled.
2.Scroll to the bottom of the Edit Item window.
3.Type the name of a Tag and press Enter when done. Contour will identify if the Tag already exists or if a new Tag is being created.
