Before we are done helping you evaluate Contour we need to add some users.
| 3. | Add a new user and put them into the new Analyst group. The license type that you select determines the level of access that the new user will have to Contour. |
Now that we have a new group and a new user we can set their permissions. Be sure not to remove yourself from the Org Admin group or to remove the group's permissions to administrate the Organization and manage projects.
| 1. | Click on the Permissions tab. Note that the Organization administration dialog allows you to control permissions across all projects. If you access to the Permissions dialog from the Project Settings dialog you will only control permissions on that project. |
| 2. | Click on the example project name that you have been working with. |
| 3. | Add the group Analysts to the project but only select the permission read. |
Permissions can be refined to the Set level. This means that a user or a group can have read access to all Sets in a project but write access to only a few select Sets.
| 1. | Open the example project and select the requirements Set. |
| 2. | The Analysts group has inherited the level of access configured at the project level. Click on the Override link. |
| 3. | Add the permission write and save. |
| 4. | Click on the test case Set. |
| 5. | Again the Analysts group has inherited the level of access configured at the project level. Click on the Override link. |
| 6. | Remove all permissions to the Set by unchecking the permission read. |
Once we have configured the permissions it is time to test them out.
| 1. | Log out of Contour and log back in as one of your new users in the Analyst group. |
| 2. | Review the list of Sets. The test cases Set should not be shown since you removed all permissions to this Set. |
| 3. | Click on the use case Set and click on the ID for one of the Items in the Set. You will not have the option to Edit the Item. Add an Item and the only Set available will be the requirements Set that you gave the user write permissions. |
