Naming our Monsters

Jama is headed to ProjectWorld-BusinessAnalystWorld Toronto in June as a silver sponsor. We’re looking forward to hearing from event speakers and meeting BAs and PMs from all over at our booth. We’re also glad to share that Will French who leads our Solutions Architect team will be speaking about how to bring key stakeholders to the table in your project process. Jama co-founder and product manager Derwyn Harris will be on a panel about when to consider Agile. We’re also giving away a trip to the conference in our Name Your Monster contest. Meet the monsters and enter the contest here. We asked our own team to name their monsters, here’s what a few of them had to say:

VC1A4072My monster is the cog monster. We all need to know what we are doing and why and we all have a say.
Dennis Hodge, Sr. Implementation Consultant
Jeremy MyrlandAcceptance Criteria Monster is my monster. Rearing his head in every user story!
Jeremy Myrland, Product Manager
Kenzie LarsonI’ve had clients often say they face the 10 Second Review Monster – instant reply to an email with ‘looks good’. Not the most constructive feedback.
Kenzie Larson, Senior Account Manager

Trevor WichmannTools Monster. You are surrounded by awesome technology and killer UI in your everyday life, but then you get to work and have to use tools at work that don’t measure up.
Trevor Wichmann, Inside Sales Manager

Jeff BurchamOne I see a lot is the ‘Archaic Monster’ – it’s always been done this way, and change is hard. So I will resist any attempts at improving or trying something new.
Jeff Burcham, Senior Account Manager

Head over to the contest page and name your monster to enter to win a trip to ProjectWorld-BA World or tweet your monster to us, @JamaSoftware using the hashtag #nameyourmonster.

  • My monster is breaking monster. In order to meet their business procedures, some customers are using our application in a different way that we don’t know. So when another customer asks to change a feature or function, which may break those customers process. Hot fix after releasing is painful and changing forth and back reduces our productivity and efficiency dramatically in the next life circle.
