I don’t remember having a hard time with naming things until recently. We needed to name this new venture and assumed something clever would just come to us. Fast forward a few months and we still didn’t have a name, so we decided to get serious.
We scheduled naming brainstorm sessions, started a wiki, read the dictionary, studied www.wordlab.com and over time came up with some great ideas. We thought we were done - but we were wrong.
The team wanted a .com domain. As we fed one great idea after another into doster.com, we realized quickly that no .com domains remain. At least it seemed like that. We started appending, rearranging and swapping words to no avail.
At this point, running short on time, we switched gears and started looking at lists of available .com’s. We sold out our creativity just to have the sacred .com and selected jamasoftware.com. It’s growing on us and we can always add a line of pajamas to our product line.
The company name is out of the way which is a relief - but then my son was born. He remained nameless for a week after arriving home - we finally found a .com that works for him…
Good luck with your naming endeavor.
